I am a San Diego therapist passionate about helping families with babies and young children. From family planning, fertility, pregnancy and post-partum, I am experienced in helping clients overcome trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues. I support parents with new babies when things don’t go the way you expected. Some issues clients seek support with are: a traumatic pregnancy or birth, fetal or infant loss, a NICU admission, adoption, known or unexpected infant disability, post-partum depression/anxiety and adjusting to a new life with your new baby and growing child. I will support your family through family planning into middle childhood, helping you navigate the twists and turns.
I received my Master of Social Work from San Diego State University and am licensed in the state of California as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have worked in agencies such as San Diego Center for Children, San Diego Unified School District with the Early Intervention Program and the Preschool Mental Health Program, Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns.
My theoretical perspective is rooted in attachment, human development, brain development, trauma, psychodynamic, and cognitive/behavioral theory. I am trained in EMDR for trauma care as well as Parent Child Interaction Therapy and the Incredible Years for positive parenting. I welcome clients from any cultural or faith based background and any sexual orientation or identification.
